DASHA AVATAR IN SASHI VIEWS

 MATSYA AVATARA

Let's begin our story from 6th manvantara coming to the end. The chakshusha manvantara is about to end, the 7 wise men had told the king Vaivasvata that earthquake and floods will end this  Manvantara. To escape the calamity let's have a big boat, and a fish which lives in a Shallow water. When the land will be flooded the fish will take us to the Shallow water body the land will expose as the water reside from that place.                               King followed there suggestion. Many rich people also follow the same suggestion. King caught the Fish in the oxus river ( Ammu Dharia ) he is sure the fish will not guide to deep sea oceans, but guide to Shallow water body. Soon they observed earthquake and Water rising in the wells, water and water day by day, in the meantime the boats are getting ready.                                                                                                                                                  The day had come, important delegates are getting into their boats, the fish is hooked to a smaller boat, and big boat will follow smaller boats. With the rise of water the fish is moving swiftly, the small boat is following the fish, and simultaneously the big boat is following the small boat. Flood water is Gushing down but the fish took a turn and boat men are rowing towards fish direction with great difficulty. At last they moved to a place where water is slowly rising but away from the mainstream of flood effected area.                                      Few days more the water level is rising but not at alarming way, one fine day the water level is dropping, the fish come to the surface and everyone thanked it with an applause. The fish was let free. The next day people in the boat observed that they are surrounded by mountains, few day passed they are on the Shore of the water body. Few got down to look at the place after finding the place safe enough  everyone got down off the boat.

They prayed to the God and applause each other that fish is none other than our God great Vishnu.

KURMA AVATARA

The Vaivasvata king ship had touched the land some place in Himalayas ( identified as manali ). They moved south to plane land and planning to establish a small kingdom, soon they observed that the floods had swept all the valuable things and might have settled them into sea. They went to sea and surprised to see big debris over the sea. Every thing got collected at one place stood like a big mountain. By the time they reached many local people are out there.                                                                                                                                                               After sometime they had decided to clear the debris and take out the valuable things. King men took the help of the native people, 5 to 6 native people are clearing the debris and sending them through a human chain. The items are analyzed and placed according their values. This is viewed as someone is churning the ocean with a big mountain and a serpent. The 5 to 6 persons in the front are resembling the snake hood and human chain as snake body. The debris is consisting of lot of plant waste, dead bodies smelling foul. Soon the foul is significant and poisonous. The work was stopped.                                                                                                                                          To overcome the situation, wood was burned and the ash is spread on the ocean surface. The ash solved the problem to some extent. Now they had another problem the heap of debris is shrinking, the work was stopped. Once again they prayed Vishnu, after few days they noticed that the tortoise are around it, eating the waste and emptying the mud, the debris stopped shrinking. All Praise The God Vishnu. They extracted many things, living persons and some animals and important plants and lots of gold. After successful doing it, they trick the local and took all valuable things with them.

 VARAHA AVATARA

After churning the ocean with locals help, the local people are tricked and left empty handed. They went to there king and told how they helped and left empty hand. The king was Hiranyakashap, his kingdom is Multan ( Pakistan ).The king got angry and send his brother to sort out the Matter.                                                                                  The king brother Hiranyaksha took the matter and chased the Vaivasvata people and humiliated them. Vaivasvata moved to east to escape multan king and his brother. Hiranyaksha inspected sea and started searching, and fortunately collected some gold and valuable items. Hiranyaksha took the pain to study the flood flow into ocean, and took the path and collected some more valuable things. On the ocean shore and even on the land, and now he started chiding the land and finding something under it Everyone start doing and lots of land is been submerged into the ocean, A group of wild boars  are surviving on thick vegetation, as boars are root eaters. The wild boar group attacks and killed many people including the king brother Hiranyaksha. The news spread like wild fire and the king Vaivasvata people praised the God Vishnu and concluded that it was non other than Vishnu killed him.

 NARASHIMA AVATARA

Hiranyakashap was shocked knowing his brother ( Hiranyasha) death, and was afraid of his life, left his palace. His pregnant wife took shelter at Narada muni hermitage. A child was born, the little child by the influence of the heritage started chanting Vishnu name.
Hiranyakashap returns from exile and finds his son ( prahalad) chanting his opponent name
He was outrageous and try to silence his son prahalad but fail to do so. To escape from the present situation he moves to South of vindhya mountains.
This place is south of India where tribals and cannibals are living. Oneday unexpectedly a huge man with a beard and big nails enter the palace and kill the king Hiranyakashap ripping his body through his nails.
The man is resembling similar to a lion and said to be killed by Lionman. ( Narashimha ). Everyone praised Lord Vishnu that it is he who had killed Hiranyakashap, the incarnation is named as Narashimha Avatar.

VAMANA AVATARA

Prahalad because king and ruled the kingdom south of Vindhya and was a successful king.
After the death of his father, Prahlāda took his father's kingdom and ruled peacefully and virtuously. He was known for his generosity and kindness. He sowed similar seeds in his son Virochana and grandson Mahabali.
Prahlada became the mighty king of the Asuras. Prahlada was even more powerful than his father, Hiranyakashipu ever was. He enjoyed the love and respect of his subjects. By virtue of his good behaviour, Prahlada conquered the three worlds easily and Indra ran away from the Heavens. Indra then deceived Prahlada into giving him the power of his behaviour and Prahlada lost control of the three worlds. The Asuras grew angry at the Devas for taking advantage of their King's virtuous behaviour and invaded the heavens. The Devas, afraid of the Asuras, enlisted the help of human Kings such as Yayati, Raji and Kakutstha and defeated them. Prahlada attacked the gods and defeated Indra in battle, forcing the King of the Gods to run for his life. Indra sought help of Lord Vishnu. Infused with his power, Indra defeated Prahlada. The latter understood that Vishnu was helping Indra in battle and he withdrew his forces. Prahlada first gave his kingdom to Andhaka, but the latter was defeated by Shiva. So Prahlada gave it to his son Virochana and undertook a Tirtha Yuga.

After the asura king Balli, gone into exile the kings happy and felt no threat to their life, and their Kingdom. Now they are in a position of enjoying endless trustful towards their people. Now kings are more arrogant and not at all responsible towards their righteousness (dharma). The lawlessness is ruling the kingdoms, The Kingdom citizens are unhappy and situation had worsen, the matter went to royal priest. But no use they can't dare to question the kings. The matter comes to jamadhagni, the matter is discussed and handed over to parshurama.                                                                                                                                                         Parshurama took the matter seriously and challenged every kings, and had to fight some kings and simply eliminated some arrogant kings. Ravana came "in the course of his campaign of conquest to Mahishmati (the capital of Kartavirya), he was captured without difficulty, they took Ravana as prisoner, but later he was killed by Parashurama and Ravana was rescued from kartavirya Arjuna.

 SRI RAMA AVATARA

Rama is born                                                                                                       Dasharath, king of Ayodhya, had no children. So he arranged a Putra-kameshti Yagna. At the Yagna, Agni (god of fire) arose from the flames and handed the king a golden vase brimming with nectar. "Give this to your queens", said the god and disappeared. The king  distributed among his three wives.  In time, the queens gave birth to sons: to the eldest was born Rama, to the youngest was born Bharat, and to the second queen were born the twins Lakshman and Shatrughna.

Rama marries Sita                                                                                               When the princes had grown up some, the sage Vishwamitra arrived at Dasharath's court and asked that Rama and Lakshman to help him, his hermitage is occupied by, they were plaguing the ashram dwellers by defiling his sacrifices with blood and bones, and by killing them.                                                                                           After the two princes successfully rid the ashram of the demons, the sage took them to the neighbouring kingdom of Mithila to show them the swayamvar festivities of the Mithila princess, Sita, born of the earth. The king of that country had adopted Sita as his daughter and, after Sita had grown up, had declared that he would give her in marriage to anyone who could string the Great Bow of Shiva. No one could. Several kings, princes, had tried and failed. Sage Vishwamitra brought the two princes of Ayodhya. Rama and Lakshamn entered the assembly hall where the bow was displayed in all its glory. Rama walked over, picked up the bow, strung it, and plucked the bowstring with such a twang that two things happened simultaneously .Rama was married to Sita. His three brothers were married to a sister's, cousins of Sita, and there were many festivities and much rejoicing in the two kingdoms.

Rama is exiled                                                                                                 Dasharath decided  to coronate Rama, as King. This is when his youngest queen invoked an old promise that Dasharath had made to her: she demanded that Rama be exiled for 14 years and that her own son, Bharat, be crowned king. Dasharath refused but Rama decided to honour his father's old promise and left for the forests. He was accompanied by Sita and by Lakshman, both following him. In grief at the injustice of it all a nd at Rama's departure, Dasharath died within two days.                                                                                                                     Bharat was not in Ayodhya when these events happened; he, and the fourth prince Shatrughna, were away at Bharat's maternal grandfather's country. They were summoned to Ayodhya in haste and, when Bharat learnt what had happened, he was furious. He shouted at his mother, refused to ascend the throne, and gathered  the townsfolk around him to proceed to the forest and to bring Rama back.                                                                                   Rama refused to return, stating his intention to serve his father's last wish by being an exile for the full 14 years. Bharat returned with Rama's sandals, placed them on the throne, and proceeded to rule the country in Rama's name. Meanwhile, Rama moved further south even deeper into the forests so that the people of Ayodhya would not find it easy to keep coming to his hut and begging him to return.

Ravana abducts Sita                                                                                                                He persuaded the demon Marich to disguise himself as a golden deer and wander near Rama's hut. When Sita saw the golden deer, she begged Rama to get it for her. When the brothers were out pursuing the deer, Ravana arrived, abducted Sita, placed her in his flying chariot, and flew through the skies to Lanka. When the princes, afte r having killed the golden deer and discovered it was a demon in disguise, returned to their hut, they found it empty and started to look for Sita.

Rama meets Hanuman                                                                                                During their wanderings, the princes came upon a group of monkeys who showed them some ornaments of Sita's: the monkeys had seen a beautiful lady crying and dropping her ornaments from a chariot in the sky that was being driven southwards by a demon.                                                                   Among the monkeys was Hanuman, who ultimately located Sita's whereabouts to be in Ravana's kingdom in Lanka. Rama gained the help of the monkey chief Sugreeva, gathered a monkey army, marched southwards, built a bridge across the ocean and crossed over to Lanka. Rama, after an epic battle, was then able to kill Ravana and finally free Sita.

 SRI KRISHNA AVATARA

Powerful Incarnation of Vishnu                                                                           The great exponent of the Bhagavad Gita, one of the Godhead of the Hindu Trinity of deities. Of all the Vishnu avatars he is the most popular, and perhaps of all Hindu gods the one closest to the heart of the masses. Krishna was dark and extremely handsome. The word Krishna literally means 'black', and black also connotes mysteriousness.

The Importance of Being Krishna                                                                          Krishna has been God to millions, who go ecstatic even as they hear his name. People consider Krishna their leader, hero, protector, philosopher, teacher and friend all rolled into one. Krishna has influenced the Indian thought, life, and culture in myriad ways. He has influenced not only its religion and philosophy, but also literature, painting and sculpture, dance and music, and all aspects of Indian folklore.

The Time of the Lord                                                                                  Indian expect the period between 3200 BC and 3100 BC as the period in which Lord Krishna lived on earth. Krishna took birth at midnight on the Ashtami or the 8th day of the Krishnapaksha or dark fortnight in the Hindu month of Shravan . The birthday of Krishna is called Janmashtami, a special occasion for Hindus that is celebrated around the world.

Baby Krishna: Killer of Evils                                                                             Stories about Krishna's exploits abound. Legends have it that on the very sixth day of his birth, Krishna killed lady demon Putna by sucking on her breasts. In his childhood, he also killed many other mighty demons, such as Trunavarta, Keshi, Aristhasur, Bakasur, Pralambasur et al. During the same period he also killed Kali Nag and made the holy water of river Yamuna poison free.

Krishna's Childhood Days

Krishna made cowherdesses happy by the  soulful music of his flute. He stayed in Gokul, the legendary 'cow-village' in Northern India. As a child he was reputed to be very mischievous, stealing curd and butter and playing pranks with his girl friends or gopis. Having completed his Lila or exploits at Gokul, he went to Vrindavan and stayed there. According to a famous legend, Krishna drove away from the monstrous serpent Kaliya from the river to the sea. Krishna, according to another popular myth, lifted the Govardhana hill up with his little finger and held it like an umbrella to protect the people of Vrindavana from the torrential rain caused by Lord Indra, who had been annoyed by Krishna. Then he moved to Nandagram.

Krishna's Youth and Education                                                                        Krishna and Balarama returned to Mathura, his birthplace, and killed his wicked maternal uncle King Kamsa along with all his cruel associates and liberated his parents from jail. He also reinstated Ugrasen as the King of Mathura. He completed his education and mastered the 64 sciences and arts in 64 days at Avantipura under his preceptor Sandipani. As gurudaksina or tuition fees, he restored Sandipani's dead son to him, he stayed in Mathura.

Krishna, the King of Dwarka                                                                                     Krishna then came to the rescue of a clan of Yadava chiefs, who were ousted by the king Jarasandha of Magadha. He easily triumphed over the multi-million army of Jarasandha by building an impregnable capital Dwarka, "the many-gated" city on an island in the sea. The city located on the western point of Gujarat is now submerged in the sea according to the epic Mahabharata. In Dwarka, he married Rukmini, then Jambavati, and Satyabhama. He also saved his kingdom from Nakasura, the demon king of Pragjyotisapura, had abducted 16,000 princesses. Krishna freed them and married them since they had nowhere else to go.

Krishna, the Hero of the Mahabharata                                                                     For many years, Krishna lived with the Pandava and Kaurava kings who ruled over Hastinapur. When a war was about to break out between the Pandavas and Kauravas, Krishna was sent to mediate but failed. War became inevitable, and Krishna offered his forces to the Kauravas and himself agreed to join the Pandavas as the charioteer of the master warrior Arjuna. This epic battle of Kurukshetra described in the Mahabharata was fought in about 3000 BC. In the middle of the war, Krishna delivered his famous advice, which forms the crux of the Bhagavad Gita, in which he put forward the theory of 'Nishkam Karma' or action without attachment.

Krishna's Final Days on Earth                                                                         After the great war, Krishna returned to Dwarka. In his final days on earth, he taught spiritual wisdom to Uddhava, his friend, and disciple, and ascended to his abode after casting off his body, which was shot at by a hunter named Jara. He is believed to have lived for 125 years. Whether he was a human being or a God-incarnate, there is no gainsaying the fact that he has been ruling the hearts of millions for over three millennia. In the words of Swami Harshananda, "If a person can affect such a profound impact on the Hindu race affecting its psyche and ethos and all aspects of its life for centuries, he is no less than God."

BUDHA AVATARA

The Story on original Budda Avatara is as follows: Tripurasura was a demon who had a very pious and chaste wife. Since she was always praying for her husband’s good health and long life, the demigods were unable to violate her good conduct and kill the demon. Hence, Rudra, popularly known as Shiva, along with the demigods, sought the help of the Supreme Lord Vishnu.                                                                                                 Tripura’s wife was a chaste woman who went on a pilgrimage to temples to pray for the longevity of her husband and security of her status as a married woman. At one place she saw very beautiful handsome Buddha who was digambara or nude and lost her heart to him and embraced him in ecstasy forgetting her mission. This Buddha was the avatara of Vishnu meant to mislead all demons to hate the Vedas by his mesmerising words. So once her chastity was lost, the devas were no longer honor bound to fulfill her prayers (as she has become sinful) and it was easy for Rudra (Shiva) to kill Tripurasura. In most of our temples, Dashavatara statues are carved on the doors or on sides. More often, we can find that, Budda is carved as a naked man. Even, in the dashavatara slokas, we mention “Battale Nintiha Boudha” (Budda standing naked).                               Nowhere in the history of Goutama Buddha, there is a mention that, he stood naked. Only Jain religion talks about Digambaras and not Buddist. So, we can conclude that, the Budda that we believe an avatara of Lord is not Gautama Budda.                                                                                                                                                                          If we believe that, Goutam Budda is Lord’s Avatara, then all his preaching will become as sacred as Bhagawat Gita itself and we cannot question anything. He did rejected many of the sayings in Vedas and Puranas. I have no doubt that, Gautam Budda was a very learned person and he did a great help in introducing Ahimsa into Sanatana Hindu Dharma. As Bhagavat says, “Every great personality has Lords Amsha in him”, Gautam Budda must have Lord’s amsha in him. But, I will stop short of accepting him as an Avatara of Lord himself.

KALI AVATARA

YET TO COME                                                                                                                                                                                 Kalki is the only avatar of Vishnu that is yet to be born. He will end all evil by defeating the demon Kali and starting a new Satyayuga or Kalkiyuga. Asura Kali is all the negative emotions and elements personified into one. Kalki is depicted as a warrior riding a white horse and holding a shining sword.
