IKSHVAK KINGS LINEAGE

  The king Vaivasvata had survived the Great floods by escaping to Himalaya mountains. He was survived by wives Shraddha, ten sons. one daughter and seven sages. Previously they are staying at center Asia, now presently they are in Indian Sub Continent.                                                                                                                                  As days passed, King Vaivasvata had decided to establishing his Kingdom, started exploring the new land and dividing duties among his sons. His ten sons are IKSHVAKA,  DHRISHTA,  NARISHYANTA,  DISHTA,  NIRGA,  KARUSHA,  SARYATI,  NABHAGA,  PRANSHU,  PRISADHRA and one Daughter name ILLA. ( SUDYUMNA ).                                                                                                                                                                        Daughter got married to Budha, he is from Uttara Kuru, the Central Asia, where a tribe had survived. The land he named as ILLA- VARATHA. Area include Central Asia and north of Himalaya.

The other sons of Dasharatha; Lakshmana and Shatrughna were said to be the kings of Karupada and Malla, and Madhupuri and Vidisha respectively. Rama and his brothers were succeeded by their respective sons; Kusha had inherited South Kosala and Lava had inherited North Kosala, while Bharata's children, Taksha and Pushkara, had inherited Takshashila and Pushkalavati respectively. Lakshmana's children, Angada and Chandraketu, had inherited Karupada and Malla respectively, and Shatrughna's children, Subahu and Shatrughati had inherited Madhupuri and Vidisha respectively. The Puranas provide a genealogical list from Kusha to Brihadbala, who was killed by Abhimanyu in the Kurukshetra War. This list is corroborated by the Raghuvamsha till Agnivarna.

King Sumitra was the last ruler of the Suryavamsha dynasty of Kosala, as he was defeated by Magadha king, Mahapadma Nanda in 362 BCE. However, he wasn't killed, and fled to the town of Rohtas, in present-day Jhelum of Pakistan's, Punjab, where his son Kurma had established his reign.
